Bathroom illumination

March 6th, 2009

Bathroom is not just a premise where we wash; it is our home “welness salon”. For this reason it should be cozy and beautiful. Certainly, the huge role is played by color scale and the color of walls, floor and ceiling, but the main thing is to arrange comfortable illumination.
Illumination in bathroom should arrange so that you did not feel discomfort from surplus or lack of light. Illumination should be soft, warm, but quite bright. In dark blue, cold light color of skin seems unhealthy. In order to feel comfortable in the bathroom, it is necessary to arrange light of 60-75 W (if your bathroom is small) or 150 W - if you have large bathroom.
If your bathroom is small, for its illumination one fixture would be desirable, and here in a bathroom of the big sizes some light sources are necessary.
BASIC AND ADDITIONAL FIXTURES
Quite often basic fixtures in a bathroom are arranged on the ceiling. It can be one big fixture or a small one, built in false ceiling. The fixtures built in a ceiling differ that the accessories are in ceiling design.
Designers like to use wall fixtures at designing of the big bathroom -wing-bar. Wing-bar give a diffused light, softer, not rejecting the shades, creating cozy atmosphere.
Usually mirrors are equipped with additional illumination. The image in a mirror should be accurate, that is not always possible, if light falls because of a back. It occurs, when the bath is equipped with one ceiling fixture or a wing-bar, located on the opposite wall.
The form of fixtures should correspond to the general style of bathroom.

Choosing a bath, it is necessary to pay attention only not to the external form, but also to the structure of its internal part. The internal structure of bath influences not only convenience, but also charge of water. Baths of identical form can have different depth, and lateral walls can be vertical or inclined. Dredging for elbows and heads, deepening for soap can be arranged at different height. In order to choose a convenient bath, it is necessary to sit in it. The volume of a bath can make from 70 up to 450 liters and more. You should remember that the more a bath is, the more water it requires.
Modern material
The variety of forms became possible owing to properties of acryl, of which baths are made. Acryl products can give easily any form, it is firm and strong. There are also other advantages:
•    small weight (simplifies transportation and installation of a bath);
•    smooth and warm surface;
•    homogeneous structure and color (scratches practically are not visible and are easily eliminated by polishing paste);
•    corrosion and resistance fading.
There should be a free space with not less than 100Ð¥20 centimeters distance between bath and washstand.
Sound insulation reduces noise during filling bath with water, and thermal isolation slows down cooling water in bath. Acryl baths can be also antibacterial.
These baths are covered with the special antibacterial enamel.
