Bathroom illumination

March 6th, 2009

Bathroom is not just a premise where we wash; it is our home “welness salon”. For this reason it should be cozy and beautiful. Certainly, the huge role is played by color scale and the color of walls, floor and ceiling, but the main thing is to arrange comfortable illumination.
Illumination in bathroom should arrange so that you did not feel discomfort from surplus or lack of light. Illumination should be soft, warm, but quite bright. In dark blue, cold light color of skin seems unhealthy. In order to feel comfortable in the bathroom, it is necessary to arrange light of 60-75 W (if your bathroom is small) or 150 W - if you have large bathroom.
If your bathroom is small, for its illumination one fixture would be desirable, and here in a bathroom of the big sizes some light sources are necessary.
BASIC AND ADDITIONAL FIXTURES
Quite often basic fixtures in a bathroom are arranged on the ceiling. It can be one big fixture or a small one, built in false ceiling. The fixtures built in a ceiling differ that the accessories are in ceiling design.
Designers like to use wall fixtures at designing of the big bathroom -wing-bar. Wing-bar give a diffused light, softer, not rejecting the shades, creating cozy atmosphere.
Usually mirrors are equipped with additional illumination. The image in a mirror should be accurate, that is not always possible, if light falls because of a back. It occurs, when the bath is equipped with one ceiling fixture or a wing-bar, located on the opposite wall.
The form of fixtures should correspond to the general style of bathroom.
