Retro-doors: modern lines
Today antiquarian articles, fragments of original historical interior, and especially - doors provide reputation not only of palaces and the most prestigious hotels of the world, but also of any private house.
In this connection it would be interesting to study experience of Dutchs, where the fashion on historical interior style has already entered long time ago. About forty years ago, artful Dutchs have thought up how to wash off paint from country provincial furniture and by that showed “white” antiques to the world. The old tree, being kept by long time under paint, got beautiful amber color.
It calls up with major principles of world restoration, where preservation of original subject is more and more appreciated, only strengthening and its maintenance in the kind, which has reached our times, in a counterbalance to reconstruction, when the destroyed or lost parts of a historical subject practically, are anew restored.
Recently fashion for “olden” houses has come to the USA. Builders try to give slightly second-hand kind to absolutely new private residences, using shabby, beaten, or even creased details of decor. In order to create illusion of decay, architects and designers added cracks, glued shabby wall-papers, selected carpets and curtains with muffled, as though faded, paints.
Such old-fashioned style gave special “gloss” to private residences and allowed building companies to raise the prices three times.
Soon it has become known that owners of such rich private residences, looking for antiquarian materials, almost on flea markets, trying to find old tiles, or slices of a cypress covering of the house. So, the idea has proved that the original aristocratism and internal nobleness genetically aspires only to historically original interior subjects.
